A UK-wide beer week promoting ‘independent beer, pubs and people’ is returning for a second year
The campaign was launched at the end of 2024 in response to confusion amongst consumers over which beers were independent, after YouGov polling found 75% of people surveyed believe consumers are being misled when purchasing beer from once independent craft breweries, such as Beavertown, Camden, and Fullers that are now owned by Global beer giants Heineken, Budweiser and Asahi respectively. The figure for beer drinkers surveyed was even higher, with 81% of beer drinkers believing consumers are being misled.

At their November meeting, the National Executive approved some changes to our committees and who will lead them:
- Campaigns and Communications: Catherine Tonry will take over from Nick Boley.
- Awards Director: Shelly Bentley will take over from Gary Timmins.
- Events Committee will become a sub-committee of Commercial Committee, with Gillian Hough taking over from Catherine Tonry as Events Director.
- A new Trading and Books subcommittee will be established under Commercial Committee, with Sarah Crawford becoming the Director responsible.
